INTRO

Hello there visitors to my world of BUSINESS CARDS!. My name is Steve Patterson and I collect business cards. I started collecting these pieces of paper starting around 1996, while I was in college. Then, I was only collecting to for graphic design classes to show what I thought was good designs and what I thought were bad designs. Top
Then one day in 2003, I believe it was, I did some reasearch and noticed found there were others like me that had a huge stack of these card stock pieces of paper, called Business Cards. So I joined a club for those who collect them and my collection has been growing ever since. It is like an addiction. Everytime I see a business card, I have to grab it and get me one or two. So now you can see that this is one of my hobbies that I enjoy doing. Top
I still like to see good/bad designs. These also can give me ideas of what to do when I design business cards for myself or others. It is also intresting to see the types of material business cards are on, such as, metal, plastic, leather, glass, etc. Top

DO NOT THROW AWAY
BUSINESS CARDS

Please, I beg you, don't throw away those unwanted business cards lying around the home or office! Maybe your business got rid of an employee; send me that box of what is left. I will take them and place them into my collection. I will take any amount! (1 to infinity). Feel free to send them to me. I would love to add your business card to my collection, so please send it to me today! How every many you have to send to me, I will take them. Every one helps! I can use duplicates for trading. So you are welcome to send me several or so of the same card, then I can use them for trading to get more cards. Top
All business cards have a home in my collection. I take them even if they have writing on them, pinholes, wrinkled, damaged and all. I still will take them and place them with all my other business cards. So don't worry if they are in bad condition. I don't care what is on it either. If it' s a business cards then it will have a home in my collection! Top

I have business cards from all over the world. In most other countries they call business cards, "Visting Cards" and there area few that call them "Calling Cards." But, as you know to us in the states, calling cards are something we use to call people long distance. Just wanted to share some names of them. I have heard some call them "Drop Cards" or even "Sizzle Cards."       Just some of the countries I have business cards from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Beijing, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, England, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tahiti, Thailand, Turkey, United States of America, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe. I may have more, just cannot read some of the languages on the cards. Guess that is why I am an International Business Card Collector. Top

I even have some rolodex cards in my collection. I concider these business cards too. They are used just like one. So also send me the rolodex cards too, please. The only differance is the size and the cut outs at the bottom, so they can be placed into a special rotating file box to fit on your work desk. Rolodex means Rolling Index. A lot of businesses have had business cards printed up, in the shape of a rolodex. Others, will type up the information and some have them handwritten. Top

ABOUT BUSINESS CARDS

Business cards can also differ in size and shapes. All business cards are not the normal size we use in America (3.5"x2"). Most of the foreign business cards are odd sizes. Some are taller than normal, while others are narrower than others. Business cards can be die-cuts. Die-cuts are shapes of objects. Some business cards are huge and others are tiny. I also have a few business cards with Braille on them. Top
Business cards are a great source of history. Not only can it show history of employment, but also history of printing and media type. I say media type, because as I have said before, business cards can be on just about anything. It can show ink usage and color usage too. It can show how corporate identities has changed or merged. They can show just about anything. My mailman often tells me a story or something about the business card he sends me. I do have an pen pal that also once in a while tells me something about the business card. I think it is interesting to see or hear about it. Top

CHAIN LETTERS ABOUT
BUSINESS CARDS

An old chain letter still circulating around the internet and other ways (Since 1989). This is for a young boy named Craig Shergold. He was asking for business cards as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Well, it is false; he wasn't looking for business cards, but greeting cards instead. But no need for them now. Please if you get this delete and tell the people that sent it about the legend and refer them to the web sites about it. It is just an urban legend. Read about the legend. Find about other False Make-A-Wish Foundation Chain letters. Top
